IMSC data protection
Privacy notice
This page explains how Inter Mezzo Sporting Club handles personal information for Lega Inter Mezzo
pre-season sign-ups, waitlist requests, Chess.com Club verification, eligibility checks, fixtures,
results and public league pages.
Pre-launch note
Before full public launch, IMSC should add its preferred contact email address here so players know exactly
where to send data access, correction or deletion requests.
Who controls the data?
Inter Mezzo Sporting Club controls the league sign-up, waitlist, verification and admin records used for
Lega Inter Mezzo. The website remains the source of truth for official sign-ups, rules, fixtures,
standings, results and eligibility decisions.
Chess.com is a separate platform. IMSC uses public Chess.com data for account and club-membership checks,
but does not ask for Chess.com passwords and does not access private Chess.com account data.

How the information is used
- To manage pre-season sign-ups and waitlist requests.
- To check that the submitted Chess.com username appears to be controlled by the person signing up.
- To verify membership of the official Inter Mezzo SC Chess.com Club.
- To assess league eligibility using public Chess.com information.
- To create placements, fixtures, results, standings, movement projections and season archives.
- To contact players about registration, verification, league updates or admin issues.
- To protect league integrity, including fair-play, account-status and non-completion reviews.
Public information
Public IMSC pages are designed to show Chess.com usernames only for players. Real names, email addresses,
private admin notes, internal review reasons and audit logs are not displayed publicly.
Public fixtures, results, standings and verified pre-season rosters may show Chess.com username,
country/federation if supplied, league division, fixture/result information and verification status.
Chess.com Club verification
Players are asked to join the official Inter Mezzo SC Chess.com Club using the same Chess.com username
they submit on the website. IMSC checks public Chess.com club data to confirm whether that username appears
in the club. Verification may not be instant because Chess.com public data can take time to update.
IMSC may also manually review or approve entries where there is a clear admin reason. Manual approval is
tracked separately from Chess.com API club verification.
Sharing and storage
IMSC does not sell player data. Data may be processed through the website hosting environment, admin tools,
backup files and public Chess.com API checks needed to operate the league. Public pages expose only the
limited public league data described above.
Admin backups may include registration, waitlist, fixture, result, audit and season data. These backups are
private admin records and should be stored securely.
Retention
IMSC keeps registration, verification, fixture, result and season records for as long as they are needed to
operate the league, maintain season history, handle disputes, preserve audit trails and support future
seasons. Test data can be removed before launch using the admin reset workflow.
Waitlist entries may be kept until they are converted, archived, rejected or no longer needed for future
intake planning.
Your choices
Players can ask IMSC to correct inaccurate registration details, review a sign-up status, remove a waitlist
entry, or consider deletion of personal data where deletion does not conflict with league integrity,
historical records, active fixtures, results, dispute handling or audit requirements.
IMSC should handle privacy requests through the official contact route published on the website.
Important limits
- Do not submit someone else’s Chess.com username.
- Do not send IMSC your Chess.com password.
- IMSC will never ask for private Chess.com login access.
- Manual admin approval does not mean Chess.com Club membership has been confirmed.
- Website sign-up records remain the official source of truth for league administration.
