Frequently asked questions

Practical answers for players joining the Lega Inter Mezzo pre-season: website sign-up, Chess.com Club verification, status checks, waitlist, fixture windows, privacy and public league pages.

Sign-up and verification

How do I join the Lega Inter Mezzo pre-season?

Complete the website sign-up form on InterMezzoSC.com, then join the official Inter Mezzo SC Chess.com Club using the same Chess.com username. The website remains the source of truth for sign-ups, eligibility, fixtures, standings and results.

Why do I need to join the Chess.com Club?

The Chess.com Club helps IMSC verify that you control the Chess.com account you registered with. It also gives players one central pre-season place for reminders, updates and community discussion. You should never send IMSC your Chess.com password.

What username should I use?

Use the same Chess.com username on the website form and when joining the official Chess.com Club. Usernames are compared case-insensitively, but spelling still matters.

Why am I still pending after joining the Chess.com Club?

Chess.com public club data can take time to update. Use the status checker and click Check Club Verification. If your membership is not detected immediately, check again later.

Can I sign up by messaging IMSC directly?

No. Players should sign up through the website. Direct messages may be used for support, but they are not the official sign-up mechanism.

Status, waitlist and capacity

How do I check my sign-up status?

Go to status.html and enter the same email address and Chess.com username you used when signing up or joining the waitlist. If a sign-up exists, you will be taken back to your status page.

What does verified mean?

Verified usually means your Chess.com username has been confirmed as a member of the official Inter Mezzo SC Chess.com Club. In some cases, an IMSC admin may manually approve a player with a recorded internal reason. The public roster distinguishes Chess.com Club verification from manual approval.

What happens if sign-ups are paused, closed or full?

The website will show the current launch status. If public sign-ups are paused, closed or at capacity, you can use the waitlist page instead. Waitlist entries are not confirmed league entries until converted into a full pre-season sign-up.

Can I see who has already been verified?

Yes. The public pre-season roster shows verified players by Chess.com username only. It does not show real names, email addresses or internal admin notes.

League format basics

What type of games count?

The backend is designed around Chess.com rated rapid standard chess games using accepted rapid time controls. Bots, variants, unrated games and unsupported time controls do not count.

The current engine counts the first five eligible rated rapid standard Chess.com games inside the fixture window for that round.

What time zone does the league use?

League fixture windows and schedule references use UTC. This avoids confusion for players outside the UK.

Where are official fixtures, results and standings published?

InterMezzoSC.com is the official source of truth for fixtures, results, standings, rules, player status and eligibility. The Chess.com Club is for account verification, reminders and community discussion only.

Can results be reviewed by an admin?
